This smooth and creamy chocolate smoothie is the perfect breakfast smoothie, or for refueling your energy after work out. This recipe combines raw chocolate, vanilla, banana and various nuts – Heavenly good and packed full of nutrients!
Creamy & healthy chocolate smoothie
- 3 cups milk or coconut water (or mix)
- 2 ripe bananas, peeled and chopped
- 4-6 tablespoons raw cocoa powder (or nibs, or mix)
- 1 handful of almonds
- 1 handful of walnuts
- 1 handful of cashew nuts
- 1 handful of pistachio nuts (optional)
- Some vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons flax seeds
- Some ice
* For extra nutrition you can add some psyllium husk, oats, chia seeds, hemp seeds...
* If you want to add some greens you can add 2-3 handfuls of spinach or broccoli!
Add all the ingredients to a blender. Pulse until smooth. If the smoothie is to thick, you can add in more milk/coconut water or water to thin it out. If to thin - add a handful of ice or more nuts or banana!
Adding some tasty dates taste delicious as well. Remember that you can make a smoothie with any nuts, greens, fruits, berries and fluids you desire.
You can change the ingredients depending on what you have at home - i.e using almond milk instead of plain milk, or almond vanilla milk (and skip the vanilla extract), change the nuts...
