Stay warm & cosy with this comforting and soothing mulled tea – a great alcohol-free alternative to the mulled wine.
I love the smell of the delicious spices and fruit spreading all over the room when having a boiler standing in the kitchen. Promise me to try this. It is heavenly good!
Warming mulled tea
Warming and delicious mulled tea, a delicious alcohol-free alternative to the mulled wine.
I suggest making this with apple juice or blueberry juice, depending on what you desire. You can also use one or two teabags with water as your base. I suggest using tea with some cinnamon, cardamom and/or ginger flavor.
Maple syrup, honey, sugar or some raisins
Fruit and spices:
- Fresh orange juice + zest
- Fresh lemon juice + zest
- Apples, sliced
- Fresh ginger, sliced
- Whole cinnamon sticks
- Vanilla bean or extract
You can also add some whole cloves and star anise if you desire. Remember that 1 or 2 star anises give a lot of taste!
- Put all the ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to boil
- Let simmer for at least 15 minutes to really get the flavor out of the spices
- It´s ready to serve – Enjoy!
This beverage can easily be stored in the fridge for some days. I suggest to strain the juice/tea from the fruit and spices, to prevent the aromatics to overpower the wine. Reheat before serving, or drink cold!
